Outsight wins the EntertainmentLAB's Crowd Monitoring Challenge

We are joining forces with Telenet to enhance crowd monitoring and communication in large venues, starting with TomorrowLand !


We are thrilled to announce its selection for the first-ever EntertainmentLAB innovation programme. This prestigious program, launched in September 2023 by Startup.Flanders in collaboration with Tomorrowland, aims to position Flanders as a global innovation hub in the entertainment industry.

We will work alongside Telenet to bring cutting-edge crowd monitoring and communication solutions to life.

EntertainmentLAB: A Gateway to Innovation
EntertainmentLAB challenges startups to solve complex problems in the entertainment space, providing access to financial, human, and intellectual capital. Participants benefit from expert guidance, mentorship, and the expansive global ecosystem of Tomorrowland.

The Challenge

Waiting in queues is a crucial pain point for attendees at entertainment venues. According to the Virgin Media O2 - UK Data from World Population Review, 46% of respondents reported that they “hate” waiting in line.

Hence, to address this pain point, the main challenge was to minimise queuing and crowding at festivals, ensuring a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for every attendee.

Our Spatial AI software for crowd density monitoring will be integrated with Telenet’s Rich Business Messaging (RBM) chatbot, enabling seamless communication with festival attendees without requiring an app download. The communication will relate to information about stage services and program, aiming to boost safety, reduce overcrowding, and decrease queuing issues.

This year’s EntertainmentLAB program saw over 100 global applications, with only four making the final cut. Outsight was chosen for the Crowd Monitoring & Communication category, supported by Telenet.
